Zen bedroomEverybody wants to get in on the Zen way of decorating our homes. I know I sure do, but a few years ago when I first bought my home, I decided to go with a Victorian style. And that is far (really far) from Zen. Of course Victorian is about bright colors and clutter - the more stuff and the more gaudy the better. On the other hand, Zen decorating is about simplicity – clean lines, natural colors, and natural light.

Clearly I have a lot to do to make my home Zen. The principles of Zen include the elements of nature, which are water, earth, fire, wood and metal.

To each his own in the living room and the dining room, but I think we can all agree that the bedroom is one place we really want to be relaxing. And now the current trend is to make your bathroom into a spa and this is just another way of saying, make it luxurious and relaxing.

Zen shower curtain from Bed Bath & BeyondWell, what better way to make something relaxing than to make it a Zen haven. That's where I'm going so I'm going for bamboo, cool, soothing colors like white, browns, and pale blues. Just look at this cute Zen shower curtain from Bed Bath & Beyond.

But what am I going to do with all my baroque stuff?

Find Zen stuff for your bedroom and bathroom at Bed Bath & Beyond and at Macy's, or one of the other best bed and bath stores we've reviewed.
